Metal Print - Raising the Flag

Created in 2024 - 11" x 14"

On February 23, 1945 Joe Rosenthal took the iconic photo "Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima", during the Pacific War on Mount Suribachi. Seventy five plus year later from when the photo was taken I felt it was time to bring it back to life.

"Raising Our Flag" is paying tribute our flag, our veterans and to those currently serving in the United States military. The gold star on the top left is dedicated to the Gold Star families and their loved ones who lost their lives while serving. Hidden is also the POW/MIA flag going across the artwork to remember their sacrifices and honor.

HIDDEN PICTURES: Tank, battleship, anchor, grenade, sword, missing man formation, battlefield cross, helicopter, solider saluting and POW/MIA flag.
