Release of "Light Up New York"

by Gregg Visintainer September 20, 2015

I've been wanting to create a New York piece for many years and it has finally arrived. I traveled to New York from May 14-21, 2015 for the National Stationary Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. The show was four days which meant I had sometime to explore New York and get inspiration for this piece. My favorite part about the trip was hearing and seeing all the sites and sounds of New York City. My first stop was to ground zero to visit the Freedom Tower, went to the 9/11 memorial museum, rode the bikes over the Brooklyn Bridge, took a helicopter tour around the Statue of Liberty, watched The Lion King on Broadway, walked the High Line and enjoyed real New York pizza.

New York is one of those cities you can do something different everyday. This is a special place and I wanted to capture a view with the Freedom Tower, Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. "Light Up New York" is a picture of New York City with the moon at dusk and the Twin Towers reflecting in the water. This was my way to show respect for the new and old skyline bringing them together and lighting up New York. Hidden you will find many different aspects of New York along with the finished date 09/11/15.
