Homage to the 26
Created in 2010 - 16" x 20"
At the age of 26, a painting created by artist, Josef Albers, called “Homage to the Square”, inspired Viz. The first time Viz saw this painting he was drawn to it, because it was basic but it really moved him. He wanted to recreate the artwork the way he visualized it. “Homage to the 26” represents and honors 26 different artists. Their names are hidden and imbedded within the piece, look for different art materials and famous artworks. This was a special way to pay tribute to the artist and art community that Viz admires.
